📝 About Resize Image
Resize Image changes the width and height of a picture in pixels. It’s useful for meeting size requirements on job sites, online stores and ID photo uploads, preparing images for a blog or newsletter, or simply making huge smartphone photos small enough to share quickly.
When you load an image, its original dimensions are filled in. With “Keep aspect ratio” checked, changing the width updates the height automatically (and vice versa), so the picture isn’t squashed or stretched. Uncheck it if you need exact dimensions, such as a 1080×1080 square, but be aware that the image will be distorted if the proportions differ; for that case, cropping to the right ratio first gives a cleaner result.
Shrinking an image usually looks sharp and reduces file size substantially, since fewer pixels mean less data. Enlarging can’t add detail that wasn’t captured, so upscaled images tend to look soft. PNG files stay PNG, preserving transparency; other formats are saved as high-quality JPG. All resizing happens locally in your browser, and your images are not uploaded.

❓ FAQ
How do I keep the image from looking stretched?
Leave “Keep aspect ratio” checked and enter only the width or height; the other value is calculated for you.
Can I make a small image bigger?
Yes, but enlarging can’t add real detail, so the result may look blurry, especially at more than about 1.5–2× the original size.
What format is the resized image saved in?
PNG images stay PNG with transparency preserved. All other formats, including WebP, are saved as JPG.
