📝 About Favicon Generator
The Favicon Generator turns a single image into a set of square PNG icons in seven sizes: 16, 32, 48, 64, 180, 192 and 512 pixels. Each size can be previewed and downloaded individually, so you only grab the files your project actually needs.
These sizes cover the most common places an icon appears. 16×16 and 32×32 are the classic browser tab favicons, 48 and 64 help on high-density screens and desktop shortcuts, 180×180 is the size Apple devices use for the home-screen icon (apple-touch-icon), and 192×192 and 512×512 are the sizes typically listed in a web app manifest for Android and PWAs. After downloading, reference the files with link tags in your HTML or in your manifest.
For the best result, start with a square image of at least 512×512 pixels and a simple, bold design — fine details disappear at 16 pixels. Non-square images are stretched to fill the square, so crop them first. All resizing happens in your browser; your logo is never uploaded.

❓ FAQ
Does it create a .ico file?
No, every icon is exported as PNG. All modern browsers accept PNG favicons through a link tag, so an .ico file is rarely required today.
What happens if my image isn’t square?
The image is stretched to fit a square, which can distort it. Crop it to 1:1 first with the Crop Image tool.
Which sizes do I actually need?
For most sites, 32×32 for the browser tab, 180×180 for Apple devices, and 192×192 plus 512×512 for a web app manifest are enough.
Is a transparent background kept?
Yes. Output files are PNG, so transparency from a PNG source image is preserved.
