📝 About Ladder Game

Ladder Game is an online version of the classic ghost-leg draw, known as sadari-tagi in Korea and amidakuji in Japan. Enter participants in one box and results in the other, then press Draw ladder. The tool generates a random ladder with horizontal rungs and traces each participant’s path from top to bottom to reveal what they get.

It’s a favourite for deciding who pays for lunch, assigning cleaning duties, choosing seats, handing out prizes at a party or settling the order of a game. Writing out results such as “Treat everyone”, “Free pass” or “Clean up” turns a simple decision into a little event.

A ladder always produces a one-to-one match: no two participants can end up with the same result. Rungs are never placed side by side, and the ladder has twelve levels, enough to mix everyone thoroughly. If you list fewer results than participants, the empty spots are shown as “—”. The drawing and the match list appear together, and nothing is uploaded — it all runs in your browser.

❓ FAQ

Can two people get the same result?

No. A ladder always maps each starting line to a different ending line, so every participant receives a unique result.

What if I enter fewer results than participants?

The missing results are filled with “—”, so some participants will land on a blank. Extra results beyond the number of participants are ignored.

Is the ladder different every time?

Yes. Each press of the button generates a brand-new random ladder, so you can redraw if everyone agrees.

Why doesn’t anything happen when I press the button?

The ladder needs at least two participants. Check that the left box has two or more non-empty lines.
