📝 About Team Divider
Team Divider shuffles a list of names and splits them into the number of teams you choose. Paste the names one per line, set the team count and press Divide — each team appears in its own card, ready to read out or screenshot.
It’s useful for classroom group projects, pickup football or futsal matches, workshop breakout rooms, company dinners where you want people to mix, and board-game nights. Because the order is shuffled before splitting, nobody can arrange to land with their friends.
Names are dealt out one by one in turn after shuffling, so team sizes never differ by more than one person. For example, 10 people in 3 teams gives sizes of 4, 3 and 3. The shuffle uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator when available, and everything is processed locally — your list of names never leaves your device. If the first result isn’t to everyone’s liking, simply press Divide again for a fresh split.

❓ FAQ
Are the teams always the same size?
If the number of people divides evenly, yes. Otherwise some teams get one extra member, but the difference is never more than one.
Can I keep certain people together or apart?
No, the split is fully random. If you need fixed pairs, divide the remaining people with the tool and add the fixed members manually.
Can I balance teams by skill level?
There’s no skill setting. A simple workaround is to divide strong players and other players in two separate runs and then combine the teams.
Is the name list stored anywhere?
No. The names are processed only in your browser and disappear when you close or reload the page.
