📝 About UUID Generator
The UUID Generator creates version 4 UUIDs, the 128-bit identifiers written as 36 characters like 3f2b8c1e-9a4d-4e7b-b2c1-5d6e7f8a9b0c. You can generate between 1 and 100 at once, and the whole list can be copied with a single click, one ID per line.
Version 4 UUIDs are built almost entirely from random bits: 122 of the 128 bits are random, while the remaining bits mark the version (the 4 in the third group) and the variant. Because the space is so large, two independently generated v4 UUIDs colliding is practically impossible, which is why they are popular as database primary keys, file names, request IDs and test fixtures that need to be unique without a central counter.
The tool uses the browser’s crypto.randomUUID() when available, which draws from a cryptographically secure random source, and falls back to a simpler generator only in older browsers. IDs are created locally and never sent anywhere.

❓ FAQ
Can two generated UUIDs ever be the same?
In theory yes, but with 122 random bits the probability is so small that it can be ignored for virtually any real application.
What is the difference between UUID v1 and v4?
Version 1 is derived from a timestamp and a node identifier, while version 4 is random. This tool generates only version 4.
Is a UUID the same as a GUID?
Yes, GUID is Microsoft’s name for the same 128-bit identifier format, so these values work wherever a GUID is expected.
Should I use a UUID as a secret token?
UUIDs are designed to be unique, not secret. For session tokens or API keys, prefer a dedicated secure token generator with more entropy.
