📝 About Game Icon Resizer

Game Icon Resizer turns one source image into a full set of square PNG icons in eight sizes: 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024 pixels. Download each size individually or grab them all at once as a ZIP file named game-icons.zip.

Indie developers need icons in many places — a 1024×1024 image for the App Store, 512×512 for the Google Play listing, 256 and 128 pixels for desktop builds and storefronts, and 16 to 48 pixels for window title bars and favicons. Instead of exporting each size by hand, you can generate them in one step and drop the files into your engine or store page.

Start with a square image of at least 1024×1024 for the sharpest results; non-square images are stretched to fit. Optional rounded corners clip each icon with a radius of about 20% of its size, and the background option fills transparent areas with a colour you pick. Note that the app stores apply their own corner masks, so square corners are usually best for those uploads. All resizing happens on a canvas in your browser — your artwork never leaves your computer.

❓ FAQ

Which sizes are generated?

Eight square PNGs: 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024 pixels, named like icon-512.png.

What happens if my image isn’t square?

It’s stretched to fill the square, which can distort the artwork. Crop it to a square first for the best result.

Should I turn on rounded corners for the App Store?

Usually not. iOS and Android apply their own icon masks, so submit square artwork and use rounded corners for places like websites or launchers that don’t round them for you.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The icons are drawn on a canvas in your browser, and the image stays on your device.
